Lexi – Duluth, Mn Senior Graduation Photographer

Lexi was a PERFECT example of why senior sessions are my favorite. It was a transformation. An upswing of confidence and radiance.

Almost everyone is uncomfortable when they first get in front of my lens. Everyone. (I chose such a strange profession, people grimace when they see me coming with my camera). I do my best to crack some jokes, make them laugh, make them feel comfortable. Behind my lens I see this absolutely lovely person. I see the light and the setting and a smiling face come together and it’s magic. So I try to show them a piece of that magic I’m seeing. After my giddiness of a particular shot, I showed Lexi the back of my camera. Her eyes lit up and she smiled (“ooooh! I love it!) and she saw at least just a bit of the beauty that I saw.

This is usually the point in the session when my clients smile a bit brighter, stand up a bit taller. They’re shoulders may become less tense, their movements start to flow and I know that I have done my job. Everyone deserves to feel this way. Everyone deserves to feel like they’re alive and breathing and beautiful. I LOVE this job. I LOVED this session. Thank you, Lexi, for reaffirming my place in the world.
